Robert is back at St. Luke’s right now, battling acute renal failure and some kind of infection. He’s in much better shape than he was Monday and Tuesday. Tests have been and are being conducted to pinpoint exactly what the origin of the infection is. He’s being hydrated and he’s gotten his appetite back somewhat and is drinking plenty of fluids. Which is itself a big improvement, since he hasn’t really felt like eating or even drinking anything for the past five or six days now.

He told me when I got there last night that he might have to undergo dialysis just to help his kidneys get back up to speed. But they will wait and see. Right now, he’s much improved over the way he was Monday and Tuesday. I’m very encouraged by the fact that his appetite has come back, too.
